Today I had the privilege to go to Kansas City Comic Convention. This is a first time convention and I think it is off to a great start. I love going to comic conventions and I'm glad that Kansas City now has another quality one to add to the calendar.
For me personally the big draw was getting to meet Manu Bennett. He plays Slade Wilson/Deathstroke on Arrow, which happens to be one of my favorite tv shows. I had the pleasure of meeting other stars from the Arrow/Flash universe last spring, and it was great to meet another one today. Even better, he was an awesome person. You could really tell that he enjoyed meeting the fans. During his panel, he started behind a table talking with a moderator. Then when the audience Q&A started he actually moved in front of the audience, as if he wanted to be closer to the fans.
There were a number of other media stars as well as creators from tons of different comic books. I was able to get some great prints for my collection. From what I could tell the panels were well run and kept to the published schedule, which is definitely an important thing at a convention. I will definitely be attending next year.
